Goalie

Each year, many hedgehogs become entangled in trailing sports nets of all kinds. We have had to cut free trussed up victims of tennis nets, badminton nets and like, Goalie, football nets that have not been rolled up at the end of play.

The lucky ones are noticed in time, but even then we cannot release them until we are sure that the tight ligature has not caused pressure problems under the skin. This we call "pressure necrosis" and if undetected can lead to a massive infection, potentially fatal if not treated before fly strike sets in.

Goalie was a lucky one, others are not so. Please, please TIE UP ALL UNUSED SPORTS NETS, it only takes a little time.
